It was rather poor time for us in Cala Morell Chalet but the house is relatively cheap and with a bit of luck somene else might have a better experience. Thus just "average" not "poor".
We were aware there is no pool but we thought the declared 400 m from the beach would be still less than 1000. Unfortunately, it took a really longer walk or rather climb on your way back. You must be aware that though the Cala Morell beach is sandy, the sea-bottom is very stony in this area, you will need special boots for less able swimmers.
The house has no air condition which you can easily survive during the day as garden trees and bushes give a lot of shade. However, nights in hot months would be hard if you avoid opening windows to protect from numerous insects flying all over. All in all, the house has a pleasant design, is relatively clean. Facilities are fatigued, neglected and old but generally work. The garden is really very nice though a little neglected. It is a pity they do not have at least 2 sunbeds, just chairs. TV works though looks clumsy, the furniture in the house is quite ok.
We were unlucky to come across a plague of little ants, known in Poland as "Pharaoh ants" - small creatures, relatively harmless but marching on in large and growing numbers everywhere especially penetrating your food and bathroom which is uncomfortable and makes preparing food a warfare operation. Those creatures usually leave their locations after some time so other visitors in future can be more lucky.
Our negative impression was reinforced because we had big problems with check-in, which however might not happen to others. The owner speaks no word in English nor any other language than Catalan and perhaps Spanish.
Cala Morell is a quiet place which is very good. There is no regular shop - some bread is available in one of the 3 restaurants, 2 of them you need to walk down into the direction of the beach.

wir würden dieses Ferienhaus nicht wieder buchen, war sehr unzufrieden. Dreckiger Kühlschrank, schlechte Ausstattung, uralte Matrazen, sehr dunkel und feucht.

Ihre Enttäuschung über den Zustand des gebuchten Objekts verstehen wir. Wir bedauern, dass es uns nicht gelungen ist, Ihnen während des Urlaubs in allen Belangen zur Seite zu stehen. Das Büro vor Ort wurde über Ihren Bericht informiert und hat umgehend eine Optimierung durchgeführt.
In der Küche gibt es nun einen neuen Kühlschrank und eine neue Küchenausstattung. Das Objekt wurde neu gestrichen, teilweise renoviert, und eine gründliche Reinigung wurde durchgeführt.
Soeben wurde eine Wasserleitung eingebaut.
Der Garten und der Außenbereich wurden sauber gemacht.
Der Vermieter hat auch neue Decken gekauft.
